Who is this guy? I introduce to you, Sam. Sam is a newer member of TFD but no stranger to being a public servant. Sam served in the U.S. military for 4 years before transitioning into public health and safety. His career started at Central EMS in 2020 as an EMT where he served as an integral part of the county wide EMS system. In 2025 Sam joined TFD as a FF/EMT where he graduated as the oldest (35) recruit in his class. Today Sam reports to A platoon for TFD and uses his free time to continue his healthcare study in paramedicine. Sam is on track to graduate in early spring of 2027 as a Nationally Registered Paramedic.

If you or someone you know would like to admire Sam a little more, you’ll have to zoom in on the picture. Sam is a lucky husband to his amazing wife Erica. Twice a year Sam and Erica frantically scramble around NWA in preparation for their 2 awesome kiddos birthdays.

I asked Sam 1 question: Would you rather sneeze glitter or burp bubbles. Based on the picture below, what do you think Sams answer is?

THIS IS : When you’re just a kid and involved in a crash, it can all be a bit overwhelming. And to keep that from ever happening, this happened.

Tontitown Fire Department Firefighter Sam Lindsey performed a quick unofficial swearing in of a new firefighter on the side of the road. Her Mom had just been hit from behind by another driver on Highway 112. And while police and other firefighters were managing the scene, Firefighter Lindsey took a moment to make sure this little one was doing just fine. Nicely done, sir.

Nikki Russell captured this moment and sent it to me.

Washington County Arkansas Judge Patrick Deakins has issued a county wide burn ban beginning today, August 11, at noon.

“Right now, we have to consider not only the threat of fire, but also the conditions our firefighters and other emergency responders are working in,” said Judge Deakins. With temperatures in the upper 90s and heat indexes expected to exceed 100 degrees, the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke is very real. “A burn ban will not eliminate every fire, but it can reduce the number of preventable fires caused by outdoor burning. Every fire we can prevent means one less situation where we are asking our first responders to work in these extreme conditions.”
