PUBLIC NOTICE
Tonka Bay Water System Not Affected by Excelsior Boil Water Notice

The City of Tonka Bay would like to assure residents that Tonka Bay’s municipal water system is not affected by the recent boil water notice issued by the City of Excelsior.

Tonka Bay operates its own independent water system and water tower and is not connected to the City of Excelsior’s water infrastructure.

The City of Excelsior recently experienced an issue where its water tower temporarily went offline. Under Minnesota Department of Health regulations, cities are required to issue a precautionary boil water notice anytime water pressure may have been compromised.

At this time, there has been no confirmation of contamination in Excelsior’s water system. The boil water notice is a required precautionary measure until testing confirms the water remains safe.

Tonka Bay residents may continue using their water normally. No boil water advisory has been issued for Tonka Bay.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS

The City has identified a water main break on Wildhurst Road. Public Works crews are currently working to locate and repair the issue.

Residents in the surrounding area may experience temporary water service interruptions, reduced water pressure, or discolored water while repairs are underway.

We appreciate your patience as crews work to restore normal service as quickly as possible. If you experience continued issues after repairs are completed, please run your cold water for several minutes to help clear the lines.
