The Tonganoxie community deserves school board members who have the ENTIRE community in mind when making decisions. As a community, we need to stand together and make sure that decisions made about our children are done by individuals who truly care about the community - not outside groups funding individuals so they can control what happens in our school.

The Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) states the following on its website...
"The ideal school board candidate values service to others and desires to guide lasting investments in public schools. Great school board candidates are passionate about supporting students, teachers and staff and advocating for the value of public schools in their community and across Kansas. They believe in creating a bright future for their community."

I am a Tonganoxie alum, a parent of a current THS student, and a community member who truly believes that the future success of our community lies within the education that is provided to our children.

Please vote, please encourage others to vote - everyone deserves to have a voice in this decision.

We are a week away from the upcoming election, and I just wanted to take a moment to extend my deepest appreciation for everyone who has supported me with kind words, their willingness to place signs in their yards, and sharing my information.

I am not a politician. I am a parent, teacher, community member, Tonganoxie alum, and a concerned citizen. I have absolutely no agenda other than wanting the best for our youth, our community, and our school district.

I was recently asked about the challenges that I think USD 464 faces....

Our school district has dedicated and amazing staff. We must make sure that our pay schedules are competitive, so we can retain our most valuable resources - the employees of USD 464.

Another challenge is making sure that we meet the needs of ALL students. Regardless of a student's educational path, each student should be encouraged and challenged to reach their fullest potential. We must provide more individualized opportunities for USD 464 students.

I have been a classroom teacher for the past 13 years. Prior to that I was a business professional working in marketing, fundraising, and higher education. I know first-hand the challenges of district staff and students. Despite any challenges that we face, we must stay focused on the overall academic success of ALL students.

The students of today are the community leaders of tomorrow, and they deserve the best education that we can possibly give them.

How can you help make that happen?
Choose school board members who have students, educators, and the best interest of the community as a whole in mind.

I have the experience, skills, and knowledge to help guide the school district in the right direction.

Elementary teacher for 13 years - with a proven track record of educational success
• Bachelor degrees in business and communication, as well as an elementary education licensure
• Master degrees in special education and business management
• Worked as a business professional and have experience with managing budgets
• Born and raised in the Tonganoxie community where I deeply valued the quality of education that I received
• Tonganoxie community member and/or home owner for my entire life
• Two sons who graduated from Tonganoxie and are currently successful college students - one is also serving in the Air National Guard
• Youngest son is a senior at THS
Community volunteer and local 4-H leader for the past 12 years
• County and state 4-H volunteer working with hundreds of youth through the past 16 years
• Volunteered as a Tongie Tidal Waves Swim Team Coach since its inception and this year served as a Head Coach
• Taught swim lessons to hundreds of community children

I believe in the future of our community, and I strongly believe that a quality education is vital to our community’s on-going success. I also believe that the school district needs to be a good steward of tax dollars.
