This week firefighters A. Angelo, Kisloski, and Meyer successfully completed Surface Water Rescue and Rescue Boat Operator training.

These courses provide critical skills for responding to emergencies on and around the water, including victim rescue, boat operations, scene safety, and coordinated emergency response. With our department covering a major waterway, maintaining proficiency in these specialized skills is essential to protecting our community and ensuring the safety of our responders.

Yesterday, your professional firefighters ran through some on duty engine operations training. Members practiced securing a water supply, relaying to other pieces of apparatus, setting up and operating elevated aerial master streams, and pumping multiple lines and appliances at once. Training sessions like these keep our skills sharp and better prepare us to act and respond effectively and efficiently at a moments notice.

Training for the unexpected is one of the most important things we do.

Today, your City of Tonawanda Professional Firefighters trained to strengthen coordination, communication, and readiness during a high-risk incident scenario.
While we hope these situations never occur in our community, preparation is critical. When seconds matter, training ensures we are ready to respond—protecting lives when our community needs us most.
