These classes totaling nearly 70 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction include:

We couldn't be prouder of Kenmore East High School senior Caelob Wilkins, who is credited with literally saving his neighbor's life. Caelob, who currently interns with the Town of Tonawanda Paramedics and takes part in the Erie 1 BOCES Health Careers Program, was at home on Saturday, June 13th when he learned that his neighbor had experienced a critical issue with her dialysis machine which caused extensive bleeding from her femoral artery. Caelob and his parents immediately rushed over to her home, finding her unconscious. Caelob stayed calm and took charge of the situation, using the skills he has learned from his education and training to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding until paramedics could arrive. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to County Legislator John Bargnesi for his recent visit and for providing our department with a new AED.

Today I stopped by Sheridan Park Fire to drop off an AED. These volunteers are the heartbeat of our community stepping up during any emergency that is ongoing. Having proper working equipment is crucial during a potential life-saving event.

Huge thank you to Alkegen on Fire Tower Drive for being accomadating hosts of our Daytime and Evening Drill yesterday.
We were able to tour the facility, speak and learn about the processes and products being made, give feedback as well as recieve for responses.

Tours are a vital part of preplanning structures/facilities and allows our department to be knowledgeable, make faster decisions when responding, and how to appropriately approach emergency response.
