🎆 PET SAFETY REMINDER 🎇
Keep Your Pets Safe During Holidays, Fireworks & Large Gatherings
✅ Ensure your pet’s microchip information is current and registered.
✅ Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with a current rabies tag and identification tag.
✅ Refill medications early. Do not wait until the last minute before holidays or special events.
✅ Create a safe, comfortable space for your pet several days before fireworks or gatherings so they become familiar with it.
✅ Use a television, radio, fan, or sound machine louder than normal to help mask loud noises.
✅ Keep dogs securely leashed when outside, even in fenced yards if they are known to be fearful.
✅ Inspect fences, gates, and enclosures for gaps, loose boards, broken latches, or holes.
✅ Keep exterior doors closed and remind guests not to let pets slip outside.
✅ Exercise your dog earlier in the day to help reduce stress and excess energy.
✅ Never leave pets unattended outdoors during fireworks, parties, or severe weather.
✅ Keep toxic foods away from pets, including chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, alcohol, and xylitol-containing products.
✅ Have recent photos of your pet available in case they become lost.
🚨 If your pet goes missing, contact local animal control agencies or local law enforcement immediately and post clear photos with your contact information.
A few minutes of preparation can prevent a heartbreaking emergency.
