Be advised, effective 12am on Friday May 22, 2026 until 12am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the Township Office of Emergency Management has enacted a curfew from 10pm until 5am for all juveniles, persons 17 years of age and under on the Barrier Island sections of Toms River Township.

The Toms River Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two male subjects pictured below, regarding the theft of a wallet that occurred at Burger 25, 199 Route 37E, on 4/18/26 at approximately 515pm.

They left in a silver Hyundai Elantra (with tinted windows and a bicycle attached to a rack on the trunk) and a NJ license plate in the front windshield.

In anticipation of a severe winter storm due to impact the area, Governor Mikie Sherrill has issued a state of emergency beginning Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 12:00 pm. The storm is expected to bring snowfall and dangerously low temperatures. Residents are encouraged to be prepared and avoid travel. Please remove vehicles from the roadway for plowing operations. Stay safe!
