Introducing the strategic community planning at the inaugural launch of the Multisector Plan for Aging in Ocean County!

Sustainable community infrastructure requires a proactive, evidence-based strategy. Age-Friendly Ocean County is excited to announce the official launch of its inaugural Multisector Plan for Aging.

This comprehensive roadmap outlines data-driven strategies and institutional best practices designed to strengthen community frameworks for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. The overarching objective is to establish robust ecosystem supports that empower all residents to age in place safely, with dignity, and with independence.

We invite you to register and join us on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Ocean County Library, Mancini Hall (101 Washington Street, Toms River, NJ 08755) for an in-depth exploration of the Age-Friendly Ocean County initiative. Please register by Thursday, June 18, 2026, at https://go.rutgers.edu/agefriendlyoc2026. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.

This milestone event is facilitated by 35 Street Consulting, LLC, and will serve as a collaborative opportunity for our public health, social services, and cooperative extension networks. It reinforces our shared commitment to systemic wellness and equitable community design.

Did you know there are opportunities to make changes to your Medicare coverage outside of the well-known “New to Medicare” and “Fall Open Enrollment” periods?

Life events such as moving, losing employer coverage, or qualifying for Extra Help may make you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period. This means you may be able to update your health or prescription drug plan at other times during the year.

The Ocean County Office of Senior Services, through our State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), offers free, unbiased counseling to help you understand your options and determine your eligibility.

Call us at 732-929-2091 or schedule an appointment with a SHIP counselor today to get personalized assistance.
