Today, we’d like to share a story from Dr. Robert Block, a past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) who passed away in 2025, after dedicating his career to pediatric care and protecting children. We honor his memory and the lasting impact of his work.

We are sharing tips, recommendations, and resources for parents, caregivers, and the community on coping with a baby’s crying and a difficult crying period called the Period of PURPLE Crying.

Today, we would like to share some advice from Dr. Ronald Barr, a developmental pediatrician and expert who has conducted more than 40 years of research on infant crying. Additionally, we’d like to share an article from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), “How to Calm a Fussy Baby: Tips for Parents and Caregivers,” with recommendations on several soothing techniques and for what to do when the crying becomes too frustrating.
