At Monroe County Schools, we know reading is the key to learning and growth. Over the past two days, MCSD educators have continued their learning at the Read to Succeed Conference as Kentucky advances literacy instruction across the Commonwealth.

A special shoutout to one of our own, Christie Biggerstaff, KDE’s Director of Early Literacy, for leading this incredible conference. We are proud to see her making an impact on students and educators across Kentucky!

☀️ TES Summer Learning Academy☀️

Our students are learning, creating, exploring, and making memories every day! From hands-on math activities and creative crafts to exciting outdoor adventures and special field trip experiences, our TES learners are staying engaged while having a blast this summer.

So far this summer, students practiced problem-solving skills with interactive games, explored their creativity through art projects, enjoyed sensory play in the foam pit, learned through reading activities, observed growing plants, and even got up close with some amazing animals!

We are so proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork, curiosity, and smiles our students bring each day. Summer learning isn’t just about academics—it’s about building friendships, discovering new interests, and creating experiences that make learning fun!
