The Bird Cage Theatre (The Official Site)

The Bird Cage Theatre (The Official Site) The Bird Cage Theatre The Bird Cage Theatre was a combination of a Saloon, Gambling Hall, House of ill repute, and Theatre.

The New York Times wrote that the Bird Cage was the wildest wickedest night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast. There were 16 Gun and Knife fights that left over 140 bullet holes through out the building. The Bird Cage hosted the wests longest poker game lasting 8 years 5 months and 3 days. It is truely the last of a bygone era of western history. The Bird Cage is ground zero for par

anormal activity. It is one of the most haunted bulidings in the west. We have had many paranormal investigations that come to investigate the hauntings of this building.

Theaters were a popular form of entertainment in early Arizona and the first moving pictures came to the towns in the 1890’s. They were shown wherever a paying crowd could be gathered.

Tombstone's Clipped History

July 14, 1955 - TOMBSTONE EPITAPH

Teddy's Open Kitchen Opens for Business Monday.

Teddy's Open Kitchen opened officially for business Monday morning at the curve on US 80 across from Boothill graveyard.

Invited guests previewed the cuisine Saturday night when they were hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ted Koutsoulis, who own the new establishment. Nothing was left to the imagination. Food of many varieties was spread before the guests so that they might taste and know what Teddy's kitchen will put out.

Plans for a larger dining room are already in the making, Koutsoulis said. At present, the new eating establishment has a half-circle counter and table space for large groups. The interior is nicely appointed and the solid, hardwood, western style chairs and tables add richness.

(NOTES: Teddy's Open Kitchen became several different restaurants over the years. In 1967 it became Gordon's Restaurant. Later it would become Top of the Hill Restaurant. Today the old restaurant is the home to Unapologetically Enough - Bo***ir Photography.)
