It's National Bean Day in Tom Bean! 🫘

Did you know today is officially National Bean Day? Around here, we think every day is a great day to be a "Bean", but today we are celebrating the tiny-but-mighty seeds that grow our food and flowers!

Try these at-home activities to celebrate!

1. A Window Garden
This is a classic way to see God’s handiwork up close as a seed "wakes up." Once your beans have leaves, plant them in a recycled yogurt cup with some Seedling Potting Mix.

2. DIY Bean Shakers
Turn "trash" into a joyful noise! Use these to play along to some upbeat worship music or a favorite song. It’s a great way to talk to kids about how even small things (like beans) can create something big and joyful.
* Recycling Tip: When the kids are done playing with them, "harvest" the beans for a craft and recycle the container.

3. Bean Mosaic Art
You can't go wrong with this classic art piece. It is a beautiful way to practice "natural" art using different colors and textures of beans.

4. Pantry "Stewardship" Soup
Go through your pantry and find any half-empty bags of dried beans. Soak them overnight and make this yummy 5 bean Soup.
This reduces food waste and provides a hearty, natural meal for the family.
