⚠️New Visitor Check-In at Tom Bean ISD⚠️

We're always looking for ways to make our schools safer and more efficient-and we're excited to introduce the Raptor Safe mobile app as part of our updated visitor check-in process!

What is Raptor Safe?
The app lets you pre-verify your identity before arriving on campus. Once you're set up, checking in is quick and secure using a personal QR code (which refreshes every 5 minutes for added safety).

Why Use It?
Using the app means faster check-ins, shorter lines, and a smoother start to your visit without skipping any of the safety steps we value.

How to Get Started:
Download the app here:
Apple Device:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/raptor-safe/id6737568144

Google:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.raptortech.safe&pcampaignid=web_share

Once installed, follow the steps to create your Raptor Passport.

Note: If you do not download the app and use this method, you will be required to show your ID upon entering the building each time

As always, feel free to call the front office of any campus if you have questions! Thank you for partnering with us to help keep Tom Bean ISD safe and welcoming for all!

We are incredibly saddened to inform the community of the passing of Assistant Police Chief Kevin Palmer. Kevin collapsed inside the Police Department while on duty Tuesday afternoon. CPR was administered immediately with the use of an AED and he was transported by the North Richland Hills Fire Department to Medical City North Hills Hospital. Despite the efforts of our first responders and hospital staff, he went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family and those who cared deeply for him.

An Air Force veteran, Kevin was hired by the North Richland Hills Police Department as a Police Officer in February 2004. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2012, Lieutenant in 2018, Captain in 2020 and Assistant Police Chief in July 2023. As Assistant Chief he oversaw the department’s patrol, traffic, SWAT and criminal investigations. Assistant Chief Palmer was the recipient of over 40 police service awards, a 2021 graduate of the PERF - Senior Management Institute of Police, and a 2021 graduate of the 283rd session of the FBI National Academy.

“Kevin will be remembered with fondness, respect and gratitude for his service and contributions to our community,” said Mayor Oscar Trevino. “Throughout his career, he was recognized with numerous awards and commendations. He was a dedicated servant leader and cherished member of our community and Police Department who will be terribly missed.”

Police Chief Mike Young stated, “Assistant Chief Kevin Palmer was such an integral person within our police department family it will be hard to think about him not being a part of our leadership team. Kevin was a truly incredible person in every part of his life and our department greatly mourns his loss.”

As his final act of service, Assistant Chief Palmer was an organ donor. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, and all those who know and loved him. Please keep the Palmer family and his NRH family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are currently pending.

Mayor Trevino has directed that flags at city facilities be lowered until the day of interment.
