30 Years of Service and Still Going Strong!

Today we proudly celebrate Jim Tidwell on an incredible milestone, 30 years of dedicated service!

For three decades, Jim has been a constant presence in our department, known not only for his cooking, but for the smile he always brings to the station. His dedication, hard work, and willingness to teach have impacted generations of firefighters who have had the privilege of learning from him.

And the best part? He’s not done yet! Jim continues to serve our community and our department with the same passion and commitment that have defined his career.

Thank you, Jim, for your years of service, your mentorship, and the positive example you set every day.

A special thank you as well to the Tidwell family for continuing to share him with us throughout this remarkable journey.

Join Tolleson Fire Department and Banner Estrella Medical Center for our EMS Week Open House at Fire Station 161.

Wednesday, May 20
5PM to 8PM

Community members will have the opportunity to:
• Learn hands only CPR
• Participate in STOP THE BLEED training
• See EMS equipment and apparatus demonstrations
• Meet Firefighters, Police Officers, Cadets, and Explorers
• Visit community outreach and education booths

Come see how Fire and Police work together during emergencies and learn more about the emergency medical care provided in our community.

At the Tolleson Fire Department, we are proud to stand alongside our brothers and sisters at the Tolleson Police Department and law enforcement agencies across the country. Whether responding to emergencies, protecting our neighborhoods, or supporting our community during its most difficult moments, their commitment to public service does not go unnoticed.

This week, we honor the fallen, support the living, and thank all those who wear the badge for their service and sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a station tour. We always value the chance to connect with our community, and even a few visitors from a galaxy far, far away.

Today is both Star Wars Day and International Firefighters’ Day.

Thank you to our visitors who stopped by for a station tour today. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community (and even a few from a community far, far away).

When incidents grow, so does the response—bringing together multiple agencies and cities as one unified team.

Thanks to that coordination, this 2nd alarm brush fire was contained to approximately 275 acres.

We’re grateful for all of our regional partners who responded, worked, and stood alongside us.
