Check out the amazing art created by local older adults! We are proud to support older adults in growing their skills and mind!

This program is made possible by the Community Outreach Department of The Toledo Museum of Art and a grant from E.A. Michelson Philanthropy.

Senior Centers, Inc. (SCI) is thankful for it's partnership with the Community Outreach Department of The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA). Thanks to a grant from E.A. Michelson Philanthropy, the Museum and the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc. began offering the Vitality Arts Program (VAP) at various senior centers in close proximity to the museum. VAP started at SCI over two years ago, and includes in person, hands-on instruction by teaching artists with projects that emphasize creative aging and support visual literacy throughout life. The TMA Community Outreach Team are cherished members of the SCI community.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Did you know that an estimated 5 million, or 1 in 10, older Americans experience elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Working together across our networks, we can generate awareness and foster action to end elder abuse. The Area Office on Aging stands in solidarity against elder abuse every day, providing supportive care and resources to those aged 60+ and their families.

The Area Office on Aging has strong roots that ground us in our community, and in the work we do of helping those 60+ with living better and longer. We are also an organization with strong wings that will take this organization and our mission to the next level. We are excited to have this documentary tell the story of how we are creating an age-friendly community where northwest Ohioans will one day live better and longer than anywhere in the nation.

Hi Friends!
REMINDER: Today we're expecting a high in the middle 90s with a heat index around 100 degrees. Tomorrow Thursday, we will also see a high in the low 90s with a heat index in the upper 90s.
Make sure you are keeping cool, stay inside if you can, or use cooling shelters, which are open for anyone in need of relief.
Most senior Centers in Northwest Ohio, as well as libraries, are acting as cooling shelters.

Ways to stay safe in the heat:
- Drink plenty of water 💧
- Take regular breaks in the shade 🌳
