If you are currently considering purchasing an older home, you should first check to see if it has any known lead hazards. If a homeowner has not complied with a health department order to control lead hazards, the property must remain vacant until the order is lifted. Extreme heat can quickly become dangerous for pets.

💧 Keep water bowls full
🌳 Provide shade and cool spaces
🚶 Walk during cooler hours
🐾 Protect paws from hot pavement
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car

Watch for signs of heat illness:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Lethargy
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Collapse

Today, we proudly celebrate Community Health Worker Day and recognize OUR dedicated Community Health Workers (CHWs) who help improve the health and well-being of individuals and families across our community. 💚

We are honored that Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel have signed a resolution officially recognizing June 6, 2026, as Community Health Worker Day in Ohio. This recognition highlights the essential role CHWs play as trusted community partners who connect residents to health care, social services, education, and resources that support healthier lives. Their compassion, advocacy, and commitment make a lasting difference every day.

Licensed food vendors are regulated and inspected to help ensure food is prepared, stored, and served according to food safety standards. Food sold by unlicensed vendors is not regulated by the health department and may increase the risk of foodborne illness.
