For more than three years, Mrs. McManus' students at East Broadway Elementary have been learning practical skills from raising a vegetable garden and cooking with the ingredients during science and health class.

Council Members Theresa Gadus and Dr. Brittany Jones sponsored a resolution to recognize the garden project, as well as their unique way of choosing a mascot for the garden: a mock election which all grades got to vote in! We commend the teachers, students, and administrators involved in these outstanding lessons! Keep up the great work!

Your neighborhood needs Snow Angels! ❄️

The Snow Angels program connects older residents and residents with disabilities to nearby volunteers who help clear snow from sidewalks and driveways all winter. Registration for assistance is open now through December 1.

Volunteers are needed! Sign up to be matched with a nearby neighbor and lend a hand. Residents of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, and it’s a great way to earn volunteer hours.
Apply for help or volunteer to be a Snow Angel at toledo.oh.gov/snow-angels
