Today August 27, 2026 at 5PM, Council members Gadus, Hobbs and Komives are hosting a press conference outside Brent Industries. They will highlight ongoing impacts on the surrounding neighborhoods and residents, raise concerns about the conditions following the explosion, and call attention to the need for continued response, accountability, and support for the affected community.

This will be followed up with a committee hearing next Wednesday September 2, 2026 at 5PM

The city is collecting outstanding 💧water bills ($61 million total) and issuing shutoffs starting with those that have owed the longest.
