Today marked the last day of Mental health Awareness Month, however, I wanted to share this chart with you and encourage each of you to take care of your mental health just as you would your physical health. According to Goodtherapy.com; “Nearly 1 out of every 5 United States adults experiences a mental health issue each year, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Despite the apparent prevalence of mental health issues, stigma and a variety of other barriers continue to block thousands of people from receiving the mental health care they need.”

Hello all! It is April already!! April is national Autism Awareness month! Let's take a moment to learn some some facts and raise awareness:

1. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.

2. Autism is treatable, not a hopeless condition. It is the fastest growing developmental disorder, yet most underfunded.

3. Autism is diagnosed four times more often in boys than girls. Its prevalence is not affected by race, region, or socio-economic status.

4. About 40% of children with autism do not speak. About 25%–30% of children with autism have some words at 12 to 18 months of age and then lose them. Others might speak, but not until later in childhood.
Be blessed!

The Lymphedema from Head to Toe seminar was awesome, and informative. What we do not realize is, Lymphedema can be small subtle changes. Maybe one hand is bigger than the other, or a leg. I am posting a picture that shows how subtle Lymphedema can be. Also, I have attached a link if you would like to know more about the chronic disease.
