The annual Light Ohio Blue campaign, an effort that reaches every corner of our great state, is fast approaching. This powerful initiative unites communities of all sizes with their local law enforcement agencies to honor Ohio's fallen officers and show support for those currently serving across the Buckeye State.

This year's campaign will run from May 6th through May 16th in conjunction with National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day. During these eleven days, Ohioans are invited to change their porch and exterior lights to blue as a visible symbol of gratitude and solidarity with the men and women who protect our communities every day.

Today, members of UToledo Police participated in Denim Day to support survivors of sexual violence and to promote awareness, prevention, and accountability.

Denim Day is a global observance that challenges harmful myths surrounding sexual violence and promotes survivor support. By wearing denim, members of UToledo Police offer a visible reminder of our responsibility to respond with professionalism, compassion, and a survivor‑centered approach.

As campus law enforcement professionals, we are committed to responses that prioritize dignity, respect, and access to support resources through collaborative partnerships with UToledo Title IX, the UT Counseling Center, and UToledo Health, as well as community partners such as the YWCA, who help ensure survivors have options, support, and care.

Together, we continue working to strengthen trust and promote safety across Rocket Nation.
