This winter was a tough one. ❄️ But thanks to a community that cares, hundreds of people in Toledo were able to find warmth, safety, and support.

Because of partners across our community, Cherry Street Mission was able to provide extra shelter, meals, and care during the coldest nights—and help support a warming center where more than 70 people some nights found a safe place to stay.

To our Toledo community: thank you for caring for your neighbors. ❤️

In March, Cherry Street Mission’s Ready for Life program continued helping guests move forward in meaningful ways:

• 3 guests graduated and are stepping into their next chapter with ongoing support
• 2 guests secured income, building a foundation for independence
• 6 relationship goals achieved, strengthening healthy connections
• 16 guests supported through collaborative case reviews
• 2 guests received furniture through Off the Streets—turning housing into a home
• New legal partnership helping guests navigate Social Security Disability cases

Every step forward matters—and every story is still being written. 💛

Today, we celebrate the truth that changed everything.

“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid… He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.’” — Matthew 28:5–6

What looked like defeat became victory.
What felt like silence became promise fulfilled.
What seemed lost was restored.

At Cherry Street Mission, we hold fast to the power of resurrection, because new life is not just a story from long ago. It is a reality we see every day as neighbors find healing, stability, and renewed purpose.

Death does not have the final word.
Hopelessness does not have the final word.
Resurrection does.

He is risen indeed.

Holy Saturday is a day of waiting.

The cross has come.
The tomb is sealed.
The silence feels heavy.

It is the space between heartbreak and hope.

But even in the waiting, God is working.

At Cherry Street Mission, we know that some seasons feel like Holy Saturday, uncertain, quiet, in-between. Yet restoration is still unfolding.

We wait.
We trust.
Resurrection is coming.
