Congratulations to l Toledo’s Future Sailor of the week: future sailor Maria Guzman. She joined the Navy during her senior year and ships to boot camp later this month. She was chosen as our Future Sailor of the Week because of her motivation and positive impact she has on our delayed entry program.
When asked my she chose to join the Navy she answered “I honestly joined the Navy because I have family in the Navy who had great things to say about it. Not only that but I personally felt that the Navy provided the best opportunities for travel, education, and a sense of challenge for myself. I could never say no to a challenge and joining was also a great opportunity to serve my country. “
Once she completes bootcamp, she will receive a $10,000 check and head to apprenticeship training to become a Mineman.
