What a BIG week at TES! 🐍💜

Our students have been battling it out in Decimal Wars✏️, balancing equations ⚖️, testing the scientific method 🔬, making discoveries with names and numbers, finding out they are holding 10 quintillion atoms in one tiny grain of sand 🏝️, and learning by doing every step of the way! They are working hard and giving it their all! 💪🏼

We brought that same energy to our FIRST PEP RALLY OF THE SEASON! We let it SHINE!

📚✨ Third Grade Language Arts is BUSY learning, reading, and thinking! ✨📚

Our third graders kicked off their new unit with a Book Tasting last Friday! 🍽️📖 They sampled books, exploring new stories and topics along the way.

Since then, they’ve been diving into fairy tales and story elements, working together in groups to identify important details and ideas. 🏰📚

And the best part? They didn’t just share their answers—they justified their thinking with evidence from the text! 🔎💭👏

So much reading, collaboration, critical thinking, and learning happening in third grade! These readers are doing AMAZING things! 📖✨

Our first graders made Part-Part-Whole come to life today—with a little help from cereal! 🥣🎉

They used cereal to build and put numbers together, making those math concepts hands-on, visual, and oh-so-yummy! 😋

Learning math is always better when you can eat your examples! 😂👏

Our fourth graders have been putting in the hard work—digging into texts, finding evidence, and preparing to share their thinking! 💪📖

They got to present their text evidence, and WOW…they did an amazing job! 🎤👏

🧪🥤 Science + Root Beer Floats = The Best Kind of Learning! 🥤🧪

Today our 5th grade scientists got to taste the science of matter! 🔬✨

They explored how particles behave in solids, liquids, and gases—and then put our knowledge to the test with a good old-fashioned root beer float lab! 🍨🥤

Students observed the solid ice cream, the liquid root beer, and the gas bubbles/fizz as they watched, discussed, and made connections to how particles move in each state of matter.

Who says science has to be boring?! When your lab includes root beer and ice cream, even the particles are having a good time! 😂

Learning + teamwork + a little sugar = one seriously awesome science day! 🧪🍦🥤
