On Saturday March 23rd the James A. Neal Training Center held a fi****ms class for employees of local banks. This training is designed to teach students firearm safety while also covering firearm laws.

During this past week Toccoa Police Department hosted the UNG Public Safety Academy Field Training Officer class.

While the class teaches the appropriate civil, criminal, and administrative liability. FTO is designed to focus more on teaching the person and simplifying adult learning and the different types. This approach helps students to identify and then mold the training around specific officers instead of blanket type training.

It was an amazing week and I feel that all the officers are prepared to train the next generation!

(Not to mention Mrs. Shirley treated us to some amazing Strawberry Cobbler)

As part of our Comminuuty Outreach program, Capt. Eddie Neal along with Lt. Kyle Arnold and Cpl. Mack Scott met with a class at Ebenezer Baptist Church yesterday for career day. The children learned about the officer’s role in the community and were able to explore a police cruiser.

Members from The Pointe Church attended a Fi****ms Safety class this past weekend at our training center. The instructor was Brain Pearson who educated the class on gun safety and gun laws.
