Today, some of our members along with many East Bay Fire Departments and Fire Departments from across the country traveled to Boston to pay our respects to FF. Robert Kilduff Jr, a 24+yr veteran of the Boston Fire Department who died in the line of duty last week while operating at the scene of a structure fire. Our thoughts remain with our brothers and sisters of the Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF and the family and friends of FF. Robert Kilduff Jr.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

The Tiverton Fire Department is grateful for those who laid down their lives to protect our freedoms. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we enjoy this day with our families and friends, let us also reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Dayโ€”and take a moment to remember the heroes who gave all.

From our family to yours, we wish you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿš‘ National EMS Week ๐Ÿš‘

National EMS Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedicated EMS professionals who provide lifesaving care to our community every single day. Since EMS Week was first authorized by President Gerald Ford in 1974, the EMS profession has grown tremendously over the past 52 years.

What began primarily as ambulance transportation has evolved into a highly advanced field of medicine. Todayโ€™s EMTs and Paramedics deliver critical, high-acuity care in homes, on roadways, and during emergencies throughout our community, often serving as the first link in the chain of survival.

The Tiverton Fire Department is proud to recognize the hard work, professionalism, and commitment of our members who answer the call day and night to care for those in need. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day.

Happy EMS Week and thank you to all of our EMS providers for your continued service, sacrifice, and commitment to our community.

Last week, members of the Tiverton Fire Department partnered with Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management for a prescribed burn at the Eight Rod Farm Management Area.

Prescribed burns are an important tool used to reduce hazardous fuels, improve wildlife habitat, and help maintain healthy ecosystems while lowering the risk of uncontrolled wildfires.

Thank you to RIDEM and all personnel involved for their coordination and leadership in making this operation a success.

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ Mutual Aid Response ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš’

Yesterday around 4:00 PM, Tiverton Fire responded mutual aid to Westport for a large scrap metal fire at Mid City. The incident quickly escalated, bringing in extensive mutual aid from across the region.

In addition to the main fire, crews worked to contain multiple brush fires along Davies Rd, believed to be caused from the embers of the Mid City incident. Tiverton personnel remained on scene throughout the night and were released around 5:00 AM this morning.

While our on-duty crews assisted in Westport, off-duty members stepped up to staff our stations and ensure uninterrupted coverage in town.

Great job to Westport Fire and all mutual aid departments involved. This response is a strong example of the teamwork, coordination, and dedication that keep our communities safe every day.
