While difficult winter weather has slowed progress, the footings are now complete and 90% of the foundation walls have been poured. The water mains have been installed and the next step will be preparing the interior spaces, so that the piers and the building slab can be poured.

Carter Family Donation for New Tiverton Library

The Tiverton Library Foundation announces that John and Letitia Carter have donated the engraving costs for the brick paving stones on the terrace of the new Tiverton Public Library that is under construction.

Stuart Horwitz, Co-Chair of the Paver Project, said “We are so grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Carter! Their generosity means that 100% of the donations to the Paver Project will be used to enhance the new Library for everyone to enjoy.”

Donors to the Paver Project designate the words to be engraved on the paving stones on the terrace near the main entry, leaving a lasting impression for generations to come. According to Susan Souza, Co-Chair, donors have been honoring family, friends, and community leaders, marking a baby’s birth, and publicizing their services, missions and messages.

The Library Foundation announced that June 1 is the new deadline for ordering, and that businesses and organizations have additional options. They can now order an 8x8 for a $400 donation, an 8x12 for $600, or a 12x12 for $1000. Individual and family options remain the same: 4x8 for a $100 donation, 8x8 for $200, 8x12 for $300, and 12x12 for $500.

The 4x8 size can accommodate three lines of engraving; the 8x8 and 8x12, four lines; and the 12x12, five lines.
