Sen Felag and I attended the 13th Annual Tiverton Community Recognition Night last week at White’s of Westport. This years awards went to another great group of recipients, teachers, first responders and a Tiverton Town employee. Thank you to the honorees for all you do for our community to make it the home we all love.

The four bridges, Pell, Verrazano, Mt. Hope and Sakonnet will reopen today at noon when the travel ban is lifted.

The travel ban remains in place today as the RIDOT continues to plow the highways and state roads. Tiverton was hit particularly hard as shown in the Channel 12 recap. Several state trucks had to be pulled out across the state including here in Tiverton. Stay safe.

Saturday morning I joined Sen Felag and Cong. Gabe Amo at the 80th Anniversary ceremony of the Woodrow Silvia VFW post 5392 in Tiverton. Congressman Amo brought a flag that had flown over the US Capital and Sen Felag & brought citations acknowledging this auspicious event! Congratulations and thank you to all the members of this Tiverton VFW post for all continued service to our town & our country!

The Tiverton Girls Soccer team won their second Division 4 championship and Sen Felag and I had the honor of congratulating them and their coaches at the Town Council Meeting this past Monday night. A great effort and result by our girls in Tiverton. Congratulations to all for once again making Tiverton proud!!!

Friday night spaghetti dinner at the Tiverton VFW for the Tiverton Fire Fighters. Great turn out including our Congressman Gabe Amo who took time out of his busy schedule to stop in for some good food & great company.

Congratulations to the teachers, staff, the principal and the students and families for receiving the Blue Ribbon School designation for Pocasset school today. I was joined today with Education Commisioner Infante-Green, Principal Donnelly-Roche, Dr. Wordell, Sens. Felag and DiPalma, Superintendent Haskins and Tiger to celebrate this great aceivment and well deserved recognition.

I was honored to accept an award from the RI Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons yesterday at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. My colleagues in the House and I have worked hard to help patients and medical professionals in Rhode Island. Legislation like the Shield Bill, the Clinician Wellness and Support Act and Harm Reduction protect our constituents and the medical professionals who serve them. The keynote speech was from Dr. Suk, the Chair of the American Medical Association on the current state of medicine in the United States. Thank you to all the members of RIESPS for this award.
