WELCOME TO YEAR 20!!! 🎊🥳🎉

On this date in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary officially became a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Since then, we've given thousands of farm animals and wildlife the second chances they deserve.

We are now in our 20th year of life-saving work for the underrepresented, underserved, underfunded, and overlooked animal populations. Here's to all of the West Place animals, past and present, and to the generous and compassionate supporters who make this work possible, today and into the future.

New ducks, who dis? 🦆

Our ducklings Harley, Bluebell, and Magpie are all grown up and exploring the pond. They are three of the 40 NEW ANIMALS we've taken in since our last visitors weekend (not including baby wildlife)!

💚 Our first hummingbird rescue!

Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of baby wildlife who need our help.

This handsome hummingbird is one of 6 fledglings (2 robins and 3 cedar waxwings) we took from Wildlife Rehabilitators Association of Rhode Island Inc after their summer hours concluded. The fledglings need to be fed every half hour from sunup to sundown, and all but the robins are migratory birds. That means we need them to build up their strength quickly so they can head south for the winter.

Our hummingbird was successfully released, and we spotted him throughout the day exploring the colorful gardens of West Place and feeding on nectar.

🥳 Happy 16th Birthday to West Place's top dog! 🎂

Hayden and friends celebrated another milestone. As a puppy, Hayden was thrown from a moving car off a bridge and down a ravine. Despite severe neurological issues, Hayden recovered and has lived an incredible life. He even has a
named after him!
