Training Notice – Increased Fire Apparatus Traffic 🚒

This Saturday, Hopewell Valley fire companies, along with approximately 20+ mutual aid tankers, will be conducting a large-scale water supply training exercise.

Residents can expect to see increased fire apparatus traffic, particularly in the area of Carter Road, where the primary training site and fill operations will be taking place.

This is a planned, non-emergency training exercise designed to enhance our ability to deliver water in areas without hydrants.

We appreciate your patience and support as we train to better serve our community. If you see something that doesn’t seem related to this training, please don’t hesitate to call 911.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service will be conducting a prescribed (controlled) burn in the Washington Crossing State Park and Mercer Meadows within the next few days.

Residents in the surrounding area may see or smell smoke during this time. This is a planned operation used to reduce wildfire risk and maintain forest health.

If you are in doubt about the source of smoke or fire, please call 9-1-1 or 877-WARN-DEP (877-927-6337).

As always, please use caution in the area and avoid interfering with operations.

Big thank you to Safety and Survival Training for coming out this morning to teach Ice Rescue Technician.

We’re proud to have 8 of our members certified today, along with a total of 28 responders across the Hopewell departments completing this course.

🚨 WINTER STORM EXPECTED ❄️
A significant winter storm is expected to impact Hopewell Township and Mercer County.

🔹 Stay off the roads if possible
Icy, snow covered roads will create hazardous travel conditions for motorists and emergency vehicles.

🔹 Clear fire hydrants
Please clear snow at least 3 feet around fire hydrants, including the street side, to ensure quick access during emergencies.

🔹 Give plows & responders space
Avoid parking along roadways where it may interfere with snow removal or block access for fire, EMS, and police vehicles.

📞 For emergencies, call 9-1-1.
