What an incredible day at our Casting with Cops event!

On June 6, we had the opportunity to spend the day fishing with some amazing kids and families from our community. From casting lines and reeling in fish to sharing laughs and making memories, the event was a great reminder of the importance of building positive relationships outside of emergency calls and enforcement activities.

We had an amazing time connecting with our youth, enjoying the beautiful waterfront, and strengthening the partnerships that make Titusville such a special community.

Catches included redfish, pufferfish, and a prized Tarpon, although the Tarpon did break the line before being able to land it.

A huge shout out and heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors who helped make this event possible:
Sportsmans Wholesale Titusville
Mosquito Lagoon Outfitters
Walmart Titusville
Titusville Police Athletic League (PAL)

Your support and commitment to our youth and community are greatly appreciated. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide a memorable experience for the children and families who attended.

We also want to thank everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the event a success. We already can't wait for our next Casting with Cops event!

Check out the video for a wonderful recap of the day and see some of the smiles, catches, and memories that made this event so special.

News Release - Titusville Police Arrest Two Individuals During Investigation into Recent Gun Violence -

Released by: Deputy Chief Tyler Wright
Date: May 29th, 2026

On May 8, 2026, detectives with the Titusville Police Department's Investigations Division, working in partnership with the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Office, conducted an investigation at a residence located near the 800 block of Gibson Street in Titusville.

The investigation stemmed from credible information linking individuals associated with the residence to a recent increase in gun violence and shots-fired incidents within the city. The Titusville Police Department responded to multiple shots-fired calls for service in the surrounding areas on April 11, April 14, and May 6, 2026, prompting detectives to further investigate those responsible.

During the investigation near the 800 block of Gibson Street, detectives arrested Jermain Antonio Wright III, 24, of Titusville, after discovering two loaded handguns concealed on his person. Wright, a convicted felon, was found in possession of a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a Sig Sauer P365X Macro 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Both fi****ms were confirmed stolen. Wright was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Additionally, Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole officers took Laquavis Montrell Brown, 24, of Titusville, into custody for Violation of Community Control during their investigation.

Prior to Brown's arrest, law enforcement personnel observed him exiting a tow-behind recreational vehicle (RV) located in the backyard of the residence and immediately approached probation officers. While conducting their investigation, officers observed a live round of ammunition near the entrance of the RV. Based on those observations, detectives with Titusville Police Department’s Investigations Division obtained a search warrant for the RV.

Upon ex*****on of the search warrant, investigators recovered the following fi****ms:

• Pioneer Arms Hellpup 7.62x39 semi-automatic AK-style pistol
• Kel-Tec SUB-2000 .40 caliber semi-automatic rifle

Investigators also determined that the Pioneer Arms Hellpup pistol was equipped with a vertical foregrip. Under federal law, the installation of a vertical foregrip on a pistol may constitute a violation of the National Fi****ms Act if not properly registered.

Both Wright and Brown remain incarcerated at the Brevard County Detention Center.

• Wright is being held on a $15,000 bond.
• Brown is being held without bond.

“The Titusville Police Department remains committed to reducing gun violence through proactive enforcement efforts, strategic partnerships, and intelligence-led policing” said Deputy Chief Wright. “Investigations involving illegal fi****ms and violent crime continue to be a priority as the department works to enhance public safety and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.”

The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

Regarding the prior shots fired calls previously mentioned, those cases are still actively being investigated.
