Tisbury animal control officer Heather Maciel came across the animal in a belly up position on Thursday, and immediately knew something was wrong.

A day in the life of an Animal Control Officer:
This girl/guy adult Harp Seal was found on Tashmoo Beach Parking Lot not acting right. The decision was made to get her/him to rehab. Thank you Kelly Stafford for helping crate her/him. Thank you Ainsley NOAA for all the coordination, Andrew Wampanoag Tribe, Sarah Mystic Aquarium, SSA for the assistance!
Update: He made it to Mystic Aquarium. During the intake exam he had 0 platelets, renal and liver failure, and dehydrated. All lifesaving measures were taken but they couldn’t necessitate him. He also had a belly full of large rocks. A necropsy was done to hopefully learn more.

Update:
Wheezy came home last night around 8pm
Weezie was hit by a car this morning on Edgartown Rd/Cromwell. She bolted! In the vicinity of Mud Puddle/ Cromwell/ Cook. She lives off of Old Country Rd and may be headed that way.
