This evening, we paused to remember the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001. Joined by our local public safety officials, Mayor Schmicker shared brief remarks and a proclamation reading at the Tipton County Pork Festival stage to honor those we lost and the heroes who answered the call that day.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We remember the lives lost, honor the bravery of our first responders, and reflect on the unity that carried our nation through the days that followed.

May we continue to carry that spirit forward through compassion, service, and care for one another. We will never forget.

It’s that time of year! The Tipton County Pork Festival is this weekend in downtown Tipton!

Please see the information below about parade routes and road closures over the next couple of days. If you’re driving in Tipton, please use extra caution around the downtown area. Not only are roads closed, but street parking and pedestrian traffic will be much higher than normal.

This evening’s Concert in the Park featuring Big Rosco & The Hammers is still on, as of 5:45 PM!

Join us from 7-9 PM in the Tipton City Park for the final concert of the season. Being your chairs/blankets and enjoy a warm, but fun evening out in Tipton.

If you drive your golf cart to the concert, please be courteous of those around you and park off to the side or near the back.

Tomorrow is your last chance to get in-person help from FEMA. The Mobile Registration Intake Center at the Tipton County Fairgrounds will be open Saturday, September 5 from 9 AM to 4 PM. No appointment needed.

Staff can help you apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program, answer questions, and check on an existing application.

Bring your Social Security number, insurance details, information about damages, financial documents, contact information, and direct deposit details.

City offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th for Labor Day, which means trash pickup will be delayed by one day.

If your trash is normally collected on Monday, it will be picked up Tuesday. If your trash is normally collected on Tuesday, it will be picked up Wednesday.

Recycling pickup will run as normal next week.

FEMA Mobile Registration Intake Center (MRIC) will be open for Tipton County residents. Representatives at this center will provide in-person assistance, answer questions and help homeowners and renters apply for FEMA's Individual Assistance Program for residents effected by the flood.

Hours of Operations : Friday September 4th 9am-7pm and Saturday September 5th 9am-4pm

Location: Tipton County Fairgrounds, 1200 S Main St. Tipton, IN 46072

Applicants should bring their Social Security number, insurance details, information about damages, financial documents, contact information and direct deposit details.
