We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Denton County Animal ER for taking the time to provide specialized training to the Tioga Volunteer Fire Department’s firefighters and EMS personnel.

This valuable training focused on animal Basic Life Support (BLS) care and CPR, equipping our team with the knowledge and skills and equipment needed to better serve all members of our community including our four-legged companions. As first responders, we recognize that pets are part of the family, and being prepared to provide lifesaving care to them is an important extension of our mission.

Opportunities like this strengthen our ability to respond with compassion, professionalism, and a higher level of service to our citizens. We are grateful for the partnership and expertise shared, and we look forward to continuing to enhance the care we provide to our community.

Thank you again to Denton County Animal ER and their staff (Dr. Blau- Emergency Vet, Faith- Hospital Supervisor, Macy- Clinical Supervisor and, Tana- Lead Veterinary Assistant) for your support and commitment to education and service.

As well as a thank you to Allegiance Mobile Health for participating in this training with us to help better support our community!

Join us in celebrating an incredible accomplishment by our very own Deputy Chief Jerry Carnes!

We are proud to announce the release of his new book; a true testament to his dedication, knowledge, and passion. Deputy Chief Carnes has always set the standard through his leadership, and this achievement is just another example of his commitment to making a lasting impact.

Please help us congratulate him on this exciting milestone. We couldn’t be more proud to have him as part of our department!

His book covers foundations, framing, plumbing, inspections, and how everything ties together from the ground up. Whether you’re in construction, inspections, fire service, or just interested in how buildings are put together, there’s something in it for you.

This weekend is a great example of the dedication and professionalism of the firefighters who serve the Tioga community.

At 23:17 last night, Tioga Fire was toned out along with Allegiance Mobile Health 5153 for a major vehicle accident off of 922. Engine 555 and Squad 550 responded, and our crews worked the scene until about 02:30 this morning before finally clearing the call.

Despite the late night, our firefighters were back at the station this morning for a scheduled station clean up and work detail at 09:00. Not only did they keep it on the schedule, several members showed up early to get started. The crew wrapped up around 11:00 and immediately moved into hose deployment and tactics training to keep their skills sharp and ensure we’re always ready when our community needs us.

Training was cut a little short when another call for service came in at 13:10 for a medical emergency.

This is what volunteer service looks like late nights, early mornings, and a commitment to always being ready. I’m incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and work ethic shown by the members of the Tioga Fire Department. Our community is well served by these men and women.

Last Tuesday night 3/10/2026, members of the Tioga Fire Department gathered for an important training focused on hazardous weather incidents, response strategies, and pre-planning. Severe weather can develop quickly in our area, and being prepared before it happens is critical to protecting our community.

Our Firefighters spent the evening reviewing response procedures, discussing real world scenarios, and working through pre incident planning to ensure we are ready to respond safely and effectively when hazardous weather strikes. Training like this allows our team to sharpen skills, strengthen coordination, and stay ahead of the challenges that severe weather can bring.

What makes our department special is the dedication of the men and women who volunteer their time away from their families, jobs, and personal commitments to serve this community. Their commitment to ongoing training and preparedness reflects a deep pride in protecting the people of Tioga.
