Post 615 American Legion Tinley Park

2-25-26 Tinley Park Veterans Commission Memorial Day Service saw a large turnout.
There were 3 WWII Vets there Eddie Durham at 104 is a new member of TP Post 615 American Legion also there was John Saglione 100 and Oscar Hand 94. The Honor Guard made up of members from Post 615 and VFW post 2791 presented the Colors.
Tinley Park Mayor Michael Glotz made opening comments
Norm Prelin gave out awards to Patriot Pen Essay winners Layla Schacht, Chloe Stanford and Salena Nassar.
A wreath was presented in memory of all fallen Veterans this was followed by 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps.
Afterword American Legion Post 615 SAL members hosted a free coffee and sandwich lunch

5/2/26 Post 615 celebrates Cincio de Mayo and Derby Day as usual the SAL crew did a great job with serving very tasty taco dinners to all who attended. We also had some nice raffles for baskets and other prizes as well not to mention holding our own little Derby . Some of the ladies had some colorful hats in the Derby tradition and even let a few guys try them on for fun. Glenney was busy in the bar serving beers and Margaritas and I would imagine a few Mint Julips.
It was a fun afternoon thanks to all who attended
