On Saturday, November 8th, Biology majors Makenzie Hester, Miranda Sellers and Joe Eckstein, attended and presented at the Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference 2025 hosted by Emory University at Oxford, GA. We are proud of these students and they did a great job!

In Ethnobotany, with Dr. Gahagen, students had the opportunity to dye cotton strips using weld and woad. Weld produces a bright yellow dye, while woad yields light blue; when combined, they can create a greenish hue. The blue and yellow colors turned out beautifully— and if you squint, you can just make out the very faint green.
