🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from Tift County Schools! 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the hard work, dedication, and contributions of the men and women whose efforts help strengthen our schools, our community, and our nation. We are especially grateful for the outstanding employees of Tift County Schools who make a difference in the lives of our students every day.

As a reminder, all Tift County Schools and district offices are closed today, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Students will also enjoy an additional holiday on Tuesday, September 8, and classes will resume on Wednesday, September 9.

We hope our students, families, and staff have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable holiday. Thank you for all you do to make Tift County Schools a place where we Collaborate | Learn | Achieve.

Just a friendly reminder that all Tift County Schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

💙 WHO IS YOUR HUMMINGBIRD? 💙

Today is National Hummingbird Day, and this year, that little bird has an extra special meaning for Tift County Schools.

At Convocation, Dr. Adolph Brown challenged us to think about the kind of people we choose to be each day. Rather than being a “vulture” that focuses on what’s wrong, he encouraged us to be a hummingbird—someone who looks for the good, brings positive energy, lifts others up, and makes the people around them better.

We asked our staff members to tell us about their hummingbirds—the coworkers who encourage them, support them, inspire them, and make a positive difference simply by the way they show up each day.

And they had a lot to say! 💙

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing the names of these special people and the words their coworkers used to describe the impact they make. Each nominee will also receive a Hummingbird Certificate as a reminder that their positivity and influence have been noticed and appreciated.

Sometimes the biggest impact comes from the little things—a kind word, an encouraging smile, a helping hand, or simply choosing to bring something good into someone else’s day.

To all of our Tift County Schools hummingbirds: thank you for making our schools, our workplaces, and our district better! 💙

We celebrated National College Colors Day at the Administrative Office today by showing off the colors of some of our favorite colleges and universities! 🎓🏈

But now it’s time for a wardrobe change! 😉 We’re trading our college colors for BLUE DEVIL BLUE as we get ready to cheer on our Tift County Blue Devils tonight at the Red, White & Blue Devil Game! 🇺🇸💙❤️🤍
