Today, Adam Gillmor and Bryce Riggs from our team joined Jessica Sattler with the Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio for a Business Retention & Expansion visit with QT2, Inc and Diversified Graphics, Inc in Tiffin.

We had a great conversation about how the companies are navigating changes in the commercial printing industry, strengthening their operations, and positioning themselves for continued growth. The team shared more about their work across printing, mailing, fulfillment, and related services, along with how technology continues to shape the way they serve customers.

We also discussed workforce needs, potential future investments, and resources available through our local and state economic development partners. These visits give us an opportunity to better understand what our existing businesses need to remain competitive and how we can help support them as new opportunities arise.

Thank you to the QT2 and Diversified Graphics teams for taking the time to meet with us today and for their continued investment in Tiffin and Seneca County. We look forward to continuing to work alongside them.

This morning, Adam Gillmor and Bryce Riggs from our team joined Jessica Sattler with the Regional Growth Partnership Northwest Ohio for a Business Retention & Expansion visit with Church & Dwight Co. in Old Fort. We met with Plant Manager David Johnston to get an update on the company's operations, current investments, workforce needs, and opportunities for continued growth in Seneca County.

Church & Dwight has been part of the Seneca County manufacturing community since 1980. While many know the company for ARM & HAMMER baking soda, the Old Fort operation has grown significantly over the years and today supports a wide range of consumer and commercial products, including cat litter, household products, and baking soda used in food, pharmaceutical, medical, and other applications.

One of the biggest topics this morning was the company's latest expansion, the $28 million unit dose detergent power paks project announced last year. Construction and equipment installation are now underway on a second production line, with production expected to begin in 2027.

We also discussed workforce development and training, future investment opportunities, and how our local, regional, and state economic development partners can continue supporting the facility.

Thank you to David and the Church & Dwight team for welcoming us this morning and for continuing to invest, grow, and create opportunities right here in Seneca County!

Last week, we shared that Kreate Tiffin LLC had purchased the former Ameriwood facility in Tiffin.

Today, we’re excited to share what comes next.

Nickolas Asset Management and Kreate have announced a $100 million investment in the 542,000-square-foot facility at 458 Second Avenue, where the company plans to launch an advanced manufacturing operation for its consumer and professional products.

The investment includes the facility, machinery, infrastructure, tooling, and startup costs, with production scheduled to begin October 1, 2026. Kreate expects the Tiffin operation to create approximately 120 jobs across manufacturing, skilled trades, tool-and-die repair, engineering, robotics, automation, maintenance, and logistics.

This is a major investment in Tiffin’s manufacturing future and another strong sign of confidence in our community, workforce, and industrial assets.

Our Economic & Workforce Development Manager, Adam Gillmor, is attending today’s JobsOhio Technician Path announcement at Northwest State Community College, where JobsOhio is sharing details on a new workforce incentive designed to help employers create and expand earn-and-learn opportunities.

Through the JobsOhio Technician Path, eligible employers can receive up to $10,000 per employee who progresses through an approved technician training pathway. The funding is paid at milestones throughout the employee’s training and can support pathways such as associate degree programs, technical training and registered apprenticeships.

The program is available to employers in JobsOhio targeted industries with Ohio operations. Participating employees must be paid at least $20 per hour, and the opportunity is available for new hires, current employees and career switchers.

Applications are now open. If your business is looking for ways to develop skilled technicians and invest in your workforce, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Welcome new member, Mohawk Local Schools!

Mohawk Local Schools has been educating students in the community since 1958, when the district was formed through the consolidation of schools in Melmore, Sycamore, and McCutchenville. Today, Mohawk serves 880 students from preschool through 12th grade, providing an educational experience designed to prepare students for the larger world, both locally and globally.

Guided by the vision, “Preparing Today’s Students for Tomorrow’s Challenges,” Mohawk is focused on giving students a strong foundation they can carry with them beyond the classroom. The district’s Portrait of a Warrior centers around five pillars: Communication, Critical Thinking, Financial Literacy, Perseverance, and Responsibility. By developing and applying these skills throughout their education, students are better prepared for life after high school, whether they choose to enter the workforce, serve in the military, or attend college.

Students at Mohawk have access to a wide variety of opportunities throughout their PK-12 education, including OHSAA sports, fine arts, agriculture, career tech education, and College Credit Plus opportunities. From their earliest years through graduation, the district works to support students as they learn, grow, and prepare for what comes next.
