One of our newest TWIA members, Nicole Sanchez, was the guest speaker at our July Meeting. Nicole has been the Executive Director for Allen Eiry Center for two years. The Center started in 1971 and there are currently 990 members. Nicole’s goal is to have 1000 members in the near future. The Allen Eiry Center has many programs for individuals aged fifty and beyond.
The annual dues are $35.00, and
individuals do not have to be retired to join. It is a walk-in facility, and individuals do not have to be a member to attend programs, but membership is encouraged.
The Allen Eiry Center provides education programs for caregivers, information about Human Trafficking, local history and a wide variety of other subjects. The Allen Eiry Center also provides exercise classes, wood carving, needlepoint, and has many activities such as pool tables, Chair Volleyball, and a choir. Day trips include museums, festivals, Bourbon Trail trip and many other interests. Long term trips are organized by Sara Wax for the Seniors on the Go.
Ways to support The Allen Eiry Center are by becoming a member, volunteering at the center or at their events, and through donations.
