The School of American Music and the Harbor Country Singers invite the community to an uplifting evening of music, patriotism, and togetherness at the Community Patriotic Sing-Along on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:30 PM on the Spring Creek Stage outdoors behind the School of American Music at 14 Maple Street, facing Dewey Cannon Park in downtown Three Oaks. Stop by a few minutes earlier (6:15 pm) for a flag-raising ceremony, with music from our School Director, Denise Vanden Bussche and Executive Director, Heidi Smith, in front of the SAM building. Our new flag was generously donated by the American Legion Post 204.

This free, family-friendly event encourages audience members of all ages to raise their voices and sing along to beloved patriotic favorites celebrating America’s history, spirit, and shared traditions. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxed summer evening filled with music and community connection.

The sing-along program will feature timeless classics, including “America the Beautiful,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “God Bless America,” “This Land Is Your Land,” and “God Bless the U.S.A.” The evening will also honor the nation’s military branches with the official songs of the U.S. Armed Forces.

“This event is about bringing people together through music,” said Heidi Smith, executive director for the School of American Music. “These songs are part of our collective memory and heritage, and singing them as a community creates a powerful and joyful experience in celebration of the America250 celebration for everyone involved.”

In the event of rain, the sing-along will move to the Three Oaks American Legion Post 204 Pavilion at 204 W. Linden St., Three Oaks, Michigan.

While admission is free, guests are encouraged to bring a donation of nonperishable food items for Neighbor by Neighbor. This local nonprofit connects vulnerable residents of southwest Berrien County with vital services. The most needed items include pull-tab cans of soup, stew, tuna, ravioli, spaghetti, or other ready-to-eat foods.
