Get inspired by a local expert who has transformed his once noxious w**d yard into an organic hay field, along with incorporating native plants that support wildlife and help to improve soil and water conservation. This tour is free and open to the public.

Some of you may be experiencing brown water. We have learned of four locations, all on 1st Avenue E between E Date and E Birch Streets. Unfortunately, we are unsure of the source at this time and will continue to investigate.

It may be due to so much usage with sprinklers being turned on. When there is high usage, that tends to stir up sediment in the mains, but this same thing can occur in your own lines.

It may be a water main has a leak, but we cannot confirm that until water bubbles up to the surface - so it's a "wait and see" game.

The City continues to conduct its routine sampling and testing and everything is still within our water supply systems' limits. Although not aesthetically pleasing, the water is potable. I also would not want to drink brown water, but it is safe. We typically recommend running a hose outside while it clears up - and since it's a hot day your plants will thank you.

We will let you know as we learn more.

Donations were made to the Headwaters Trail System by Keith and Lisa Reed; several donations were received from the Give Big Gallatin Valley fundraiser; by Gene & Pat Townsend in memoriam of Donna Buzdikian, Bill Frank and Phyllis Laird; and also by Diane Phillips for the sale of Jim Phillips’ book A View from the Trail.

Keith and Lisa Reed also donated to the Three Forks Rodeo Grounds. Tons of people rounded up their purchases or left tips at the Cook Shack the last weekend of April during the Junior & High School Rodeo, to be used towards bleacher project at the Three Forks Rodeo Grounds.

Alex Blackburn donated the purchase of one tree to enhance the City’s Arbor Day tree planting project.

Town Pump and Keith and Lisa Reed donated to the Three Forks Community Library’s summer reading program.

An anonymous donation was made to be applied to water/sewer accounts.

Thank you to all those who have donated to special programs of the City of Three Forks!!

Just keeping you up to date (hopefully) with the ongoing fiberoptic project. They are kind of in the transitional stage of working in the alleys between 3rd and 4th Avenues East (some of permit #1 and some of permit #2 locations).

If you wish to have your house connected to fiber while they are installing the main line, please reach out to Gallatin Wireless directly at 406-222-5454.

Please remember they are calling in hundreds of locates with 811 while they work on this project. Northwestern Energy, CenturyLink, City water and sewer, and other utilities may be marked from the alleys where they are working all the way to your house, whether you wish to connect or not. This is so they know where the lines leaving the alleys head in various directions to prevent them from hitting them.

Street Sweeping and Fiberoptic Work -

Yep, we missed coordinating that. We do plan to finish street sweeping where it is already marked to be done: 2nd Avenue E and E Birch Street on Wednesday, May 20th.

We apologize and will alter future street sweeping to not occur where Drover Construction & Gallatin Wireless are currently working. Doesn't make much sense to ask you to park off street, and they're asking you to not park in the alley. Sorry about that! (Insert Homer Simpson's "doh" emoji).
