The bill bans all plastic carryout bags at checkout, thin or thick, “reusable” label or not, and adds a 10-cent charge for recycled paper bags used at checkout. Don’t forget, FREE LANDFILL DAY is this Saturday, March 28th! Clean up the yard and the garage and bring your excess trash, landscape trimmings, bulky items, or home remodel waste debris to the Calabasas Landfill (5300 Lost Hills Road, Agoura Hills) for free disposal from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Clean up the yard and the garage and take advantage of Free Landfill Day on Saturday, March 28th, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Calabasas Landfill (5300 Lost Hills Road, Agoura Hills). SAVE THE DATE! Join us on Saturday, April 18th, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for the City’s annual Arbor Earth Day Celebration at Thousand Oaks Community Center Park located at 2525 N. Moorpark Road, next to Thousand Oaks High School. This free, family-friendly event will include electric vehicles on display, kids’ activities, live music, food vendors, a plant giveaway, and free compost. There will be giveaways, raffles, and more! This initiative, in partnership with Southern California Edison (SCE), marks a significant step in improving public safety, reducing energy use, lowering long-term costs for the City, and fulfilling the Climate and Environmental Action Plan (CEAP) Building Energy Measure BE2.3: Transition to LED streetlights throughout the City.
