We’re going to need a bigger office! 😅🎉

Over 40 people packed into our second-floor space for this year’s Volunteer Recognition Pancit Meal. It was the perfect afternoon celebrating our incredible volunteers, dedicated therapists and hard-working community partners from Community Conscience, Buena Vista Home Health & Hospice Care, Conejo Recreation and Park District and Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association.

It was the least we could do to show our appreciation for the people who make Hospice the powerful force for good that it is. (And an extra big thank you to Susie for the legendary meal!) 🍲❤️

No one should have to navigate the heavy burden of grief alone.

At Hospice of the Conejo, we know how deeply impactful it is to sit in a room with people who truly understand your pain. Our grief support groups bring together individuals with a shared experience of loss, creating a safe space where you can express your feelings, listen and heal alongside others walking a similar path.

To ensure everyone gets the support they deserve, we've recently added groups to our schedule (as some groups are at capacity).

As always, all of our bereavement groups are completely free of charge.

For those wondering... our first-ever Hygiene Bank was a success!

In late April, we invited residents to pick up incontinence products and disposable medical essentials at our offices in Thousand Oaks, and the response was gratifying. In just one week, we provided $1,460 worth of products to nine local families.

What we distributed:

-27 bags of pull-ups and diapers

-19 packages of Chux

-2 cases of wipes

-4 cartons of gloves

Thank you to everyone who supported this initiative and helped us get these vital supplies to those who need them most. Stay tuned for updates on our next giveaway date.

Thank you to the Thousand Oaks Acorn for highlighting our newest board members: Jean Bishop and David Mack. We're delighted to welcome both as we focus on three goals heading into our 50th anniversary in 2027: increasing access, expanding programs and growing awareness about what we offer.

After several years without the membership to sustain regular meetings, our Youth+Teen Grief Support Group is ramping up again.

This group is specifically designed for those 17 and under who are navigating the loss of a loved one, especially a parent or sibling.

We meet on Tuesdays at our Hillcrest Drive office. Being around others who truly "get it" can make all the difference in a young person’s healing journey.
