Sadly:( .....

The Thornville Pool will not be re-opening. After 62 years, many sunburns and lots of fun and memories made, we will be saying a final goodbye to the Thornville Swimming Pool. However, a new water feature is in the works at a more reasonable cost... hopefully for summer of 2024.

Good News:) .....

The Village of Pleasantville Pool has graciously offered to give Village of Thornville residents their In-Town rates for pool memberships in 2023 if they can show a current water/sewer bill to prove their residency.

Free swim on our last day of the season!! This Saturday, August 13th (weather permitting) along with a free bottle of water per entry. Thank you to the Perry County Community Club for sponsoring this free event. We appreciate it!! Water shoes are still required to be worn in the pool.

Thornville Pool Attendees

The Administration and Village Council understand the value the pool brings to many members of the community of all ages. Every year we do our best to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all who come to visit the pool. Given the age of the facility we are seeing an increase in the amount of chips, cracks and holes to the pool’s floor that can result in injuries. We are doing our best to work with engineers and specialists to provide long-term solutions to structural problems that are becoming more frequent. Unfortunately, long-term solutions are slow moving. The pool is going to resume normal business hours tomorrow (June 2nd) weather permitting ,with the following stipulation in place so that injuries can be mitigated.

ALL WHO WISH TO ENTER THE POOL TO SWIM MUST WEAR WATER SHOES

We hope to be remain open for the entire season, with this requirement in place, but we cannot promise future structural issues this summer may change this situation.

We understand the inconvenience this may have on ALL but we believe this to be the best solution to keep everyone safe this summer.

There may be some who have already paid for a season membership but do not want to continue attending due to this news. If you wish to have your membership refunded please feel free to reach out to the Village office @ 740-246-6020 or email [email protected].

We will allow your request for membership refunds until Friday June 10th 2022 but this will be the final day we honor a refund request.

We also ask that our pool employees are shown the utmost respect when enforcing this new rule. They have many daily important responsibilities and do an awesome job!

Parent’s…. please help them out in any way possible. It will be greatly appreciated!!

WE NEED LIFEGUARDS @ THE THORNVILLE POOL!!!

The Thornville Pool opening day for 2022 will be Friday May 27th- weather permitting.

We are currently hiring for Lifeguard positions.

The Baltimore Pool will be offering Certification classes the week of May 23rd. This is a great class to attend.

Applications may be picked up at the Village of Thornville Administrative offices @ 1 S Main St Thornville.

We can also email you an application by calling 740-246-6020.

Last day to swim for the 2021 Pool season is this Saturday, August 14th from 12-7pm.

We are in the process of closing up the concession stand so we will only be selling water and pop until it is gone this week.

🐾🐾🐾🐾 Sunday August 15th from 12-2 we will have the "Drool at the Pool" DOG SWIM only.
You must provide vaccination records to be permitted inside with your dog.

SPECIAL EVENT ADMISSIONS:

I want to send out a huge thank you and farewell to Kassidy Cox as she heads out to pursue the completion of her college degree and career she works very hard towards. She has worked at the pool for the past 6 years, the past 3 as our Manager. She has done an excellent job and we can’t wait to see what her future holds (I will also miss our daily/multiple Facetimes🥰). Good luck Kass. Keep in touch!!
