🚔 Community Safety in Action!

The Thornville Police Department proudly joined the Perry County Safe Communities and Perry County EMA for the April Distracted Driving & Prom Promise Event, alongside the Northern Local School District and other districts across the county.

This important event helps remind our young drivers and the entire community about the real dangers of distracted and impaired driving.

👮‍♂️ Chief Palmer even took part in the distracted driving roadster to help demonstrate just how quickly things can go wrong when your attention leaves the road.

📵 Stay focused.
🚫 Drive sober.
❤️ Stay safe, Thornville.

💥Introducing Our New Police E-Bike!💥

The Thornville Police Department is excited to add a new E-Bike patrol to our department. This will allow officers to better patrol parks, neighborhoods, community events, and downtown areas while staying connected with our residents.

The E-Bike will also be used for bicycle safety education and community outreach, especially with kids and families in our community.

If you see an officer riding the E-Bike around town, feel free to wave or stop and say hello!

🚲 Bike Safety Reminder🚲

With the warmer weather here, we’re seeing lots of kids and families out enjoying their bicycles and e-bikes around the Village — which we love to see! ☀️

However, we’ve received a few concerns from residents about riders:

A few quick reminders for our riders:
🚦 Use crosswalks at intersections
👀 Watch for cars and pedestrians
🚶 Sidewalks are for sharing — slow down around walkers
🛑 Traffic rules apply to bikes too

Stay Tuned- The Thornville Police just added a police e-bike to the department! You may see an officer riding around town this summer. We’ll be out there meeting riders, talking safety, and hopefully keeping up with you all. 😄🚲

Parents — a quick safety talk with your little riders goes a long way.

Let’s work together to keep Thornville safe and fun for everyone.
