Current closures include:

⚠️ I-70 EB off ramp to SR 79
⚠️ I-70 EB loop ramp from SR 79
⚠️ I-70 WB on ramp from SR 79
⚠️ SR 360 at the Fairfield/Licking County line

Update Phone Service has been restored

📢 PHONE SERVICE OUTAGE – VILLAGE OF THORNVILLE & AREA

Due to the storm that moved through our area, Spectrum is currently experiencing an outage throughout the Village of Thornville and surrounding area.

At this time, our non-emergency phone lines are unavailable due to the outage.

🚨 911 service is still operational for emergencies.

We will provide an update once our non-emergency phone service has been restored.

Update the road is back open

ZION RD IS CLOSED

Zion Rd is CLOSED between SR 13 and Rushcreek Rd due to significant flooding.

The photo below was taken tonight during our response.

This isn’t a little water over the roadway. Tonight, our crews had to rescue a woman who was stranded on top of her vehicle after it became surrounded by floodwater.

Thankfully, our crews were able to reach her and bring her to safety.

Please understand how quickly these conditions can become life-threatening.

Do NOT drive through flooded roadways.
🚧 Do NOT drive around barricades or road closures.
🔄 If you encounter high water — TURN AROUND.

You cannot see what is underneath the water. You cannot accurately judge how deep it is. And once your vehicle is caught in moving or rising water, you may not be able to get out.

Please avoid Zion Rd between SR 13 and Rushcreek Rd and use an alternate route.

We don’t want to meet you on the roadway tonight.

Your destination can wait. Your life cannot.

Stay safe. Stay alert. Give emergency crews room to work.

Following the recent flash flooding throughout Perry County, the Village of Thornville and Thorn Township are coming together to collect essential supplies for those who have been impacted.

If you're able to help, even a small donation can make a difference. Bottled water, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, baby supplies, pet supplies, paper products, medical supplies, and other essentials are being accepted.

🚒 Swearing-In Ceremony 🚒

Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedic Johnny Putnam on officially taking the Oath of Office as a full-time member of the Thorn Township Fire Department.

While Johnny has proudly served as a full-time member of our department for some time, we were honored to formally recognize his commitment today as he took the Oath of Office surrounded by his family and fellow firefighters.

We are proud to have Johnny serving the citizens of Thorn Township and look forward to many years of dedicated service.
