Join Thornton Library for a fun, tropical-themed Paint Night featuring the “Pineapple Pair” canvas at the Thornton American Legion (109 Williams St.). Enjoy a relaxed evening out as instructor Chris Hnatusko-Janich leads you step-by-step in creating your own 16″ x 20″ pre-drawn pineapple painting—no experience needed!

Ages: 21 and over

Reservations are required by June 25—call Kathy at the library (708-877-2579) or Chris at 708-334-6048 to save your spot, or drop off payment at the library (115 E. Margaret St.) or the Legion by June 25.

Feel free to bring an appetizer or potluck dish to share and make it a festive night out!

Spend an evening under the stars with Disney-Pixar's WALL-E on the big outdoor screen at the library lawn. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite snacks as we follow everyone’s favorite little trash-compacting robot on a heartwarming space adventure about love, friendship, and caring for our planet.

We’ll provide the movie and the atmosphere; you bring the family and get comfy for a cozy night outside.

The recreation center will be offering a small concession stand with snacks and drinks for purchase.

REMINDER!

DINO DUELS is coming to the library! Are your dinos ready for battle?

Tweens and teens are invited to design their own dinosaur trading cards and work together to turn them into a one-of-a-kind trading card game created entirely by the group. Participants will research real dinosaur facts, create custom artwork and stats, and then team up to build the rules for an epic dino showdown.

This is a child-driven program where their ideas lead the way, so it’s perfect for creative kids who love dinosaurs, art, and games. We’ll provide the materials—you bring your imagination and your best game ideas.

The Thornton Public Library Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

The board will discuss library operations, budget matters, policies, programs, and other business as outlined in the meeting agenda. Agenda items may include approval of minutes, financial reports, the director’s report, and new business.
