On Friday afternoon the city of Thornton discovered that a contractor working in the area of Grant Street and Thornton Parkway damaged a 12-inch water line near Thornton High School. Some water customers in the area are reporting a water outage. Utility crews are working now to isolate the water break and restore water service to the area as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience as the city of Thornton works though this emergency water break to serve you with safe, reliable water.

Once water service is restored, if you experience discolored water, turn on water faucets for a few minutes to clear any sediment that can sometimes occur when water line breaks and repairs occur.
