Monday was Speech Pathologist Appreciation Day, and the Norris Elementary School family was super excited to celebrate our very own, Dr. Pattie Tillman!

Dr. Tillman goes above and beyond to serve our students, ensuring they receive the support and encouragement they need to thrive. In addition to her work with students, she is always willing to step in and help throughout our building in so many other capacities.

We are truly grateful for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference each day. Thank you, Dr. Tillman, for all that you do for our students and school community. At Norris Elementary School, Every Piece Matters! 💙💛

Congratulations to our retiree, Mrs. Bridget Nelson, who was recognized Monday evening by the McDuffie County Board of Education for her many years of dedicated service and commitment to education. Mrs. Nelson has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues throughout her career. We are grateful for her years of service and wish her much happiness, good health, and many blessings in her retirement. Thank you for all you have done!

May 20, the final day of the 2025-2026 school year, is an early-release date for students. Report cards will be sent home with elementary and middle school students that day, while high school report cards will be mailed. Schools will dismiss as follows:

11:00 - Sand Hills and DES
11:15 - SPED buses at all schools
11:20 - TMMS
11:25 - THS
11:30 - MAC, MES, NES

Today, we proudly celebrated the accomplishments of our amazing students during Honors Day at Norris Elementary School! 🎉 We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, growth, and achievements our scholars have displayed throughout this school year.

As we reflect on an incredible year filled with learning, laughter, and success, we celebrate every student for the unique role they play in making our school family so special. Thank you to our teachers, staff, families, and community for supporting our students every step of the way.

It has truly been a wonderful school year, and we look forward to even greater things ahead. Congratulations to all of our students on a job well done!

On Thursday, our students enjoyed a fun-filled Yearbook Signing Party! Our 2025–2026 yearbook was officially unveiled, and students had the opportunity to have their friends and teachers write special messages inside. The excitement on their faces as they saw themselves throughout this book of memories was truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Yearbook Committee for creating such an amazing keepsake filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated!

Norris Elementary School is a PBIS school, and our students work hard to earn RAMS Bucks by exhibiting our school expectations:

• Respect Everyone
• Act Appropriately
• Make Safe Choices
• Show Responsibility

On Friday, our students had their final opportunity to spend the RAMS Bucks they earned at a special RAM Store featuring Mother’s Day items. Students were excited to shop for gifts for their mother or a special someone in their lives. It was heartwarming to see the joy on their faces as they used their hard-earned rewards to show appreciation for those they love.

A special thank you to our faculty and staff who donated items and helped make this meaningful experience possible for our scholars.
