At 5:41 this morning, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire.

Engine 43 arrived on scene and found an abandoned sailboat on fire. Crews quickly deployed a handline and extinguished the fire, then checked the surrounding area to ensure there was no extension to nearby vegetation or property.

Once the fire was extinguished and the scene was deemed safe, all Fair Grove Fire units returned to service.

At 10:31 last night, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to assist Thomasville City Fire on a motor vehicle accident involving multiple entrapments.

Engine 43 arrived on scene and was assigned to assist Thomasville crews with extrication operations. Firefighters worked diligently to safely free a total of three patients who were trapped inside the vehicle.

Once all three patients were extricated, they were turned over to DCEMS personnel for treatment and transported to the hospital for further care.

After completing operations on scene, all Fair Grove Fire units returned to service.

At 8:08 this evening, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer.

Engine 43 arrived on scene and confirmed a collision involving a tractor-trailer. 43-A established command and held the incident. After crews completed their assessment, it was determined there were no injuries, fuel leaks, or hazardous spills associated with the crash.

The incident was placed under control, and once the NCSHP arrived on scene to conduct their investigation, all Fair Grove Fire units returned to service.

At 2:39 this afternoon, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident. Engine 43 arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision with both vehicles off the roadway.

Crews quickly assessed the scene and confirmed that all occupants were out of their vehicles. All patients requested evaluation by EMS as a precaution.

Once the scene was stabilized and turned over to law enforcement, the NCSHP assumed the investigation. All Fair Grove Fire units have since returned to service.

This morning, Fair Grove Fire had the opportunity to attend High Angle Rescue training hosted by Silver Valley Fire Department.

Training like this helps ensure our personnel remain prepared for a wide variety of emergencies and continues to strengthen the specialized services we provide to our citizens. We are committed to ongoing education and hands-on training to improve our skills and deliver the highest level of service to our community.

At 6:55 this evening, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to a reported outbuilding fire. Engine 45 arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior. Crews investigated the area and located a fire that had been intentionally set behind the building.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and confirmed there was no extension to the outbuilding or any other nearby structures. 45-B held the incident, and once the fire was extinguished and the scene was secured, all Fair Grove units returned to service.

Engine 43 responded and, upon arrival, personnel assisted with fire attack as crews worked to contain the fire, which had spread through wooded areas and multiple structures. Fair Grove personnel remained on scene to assist with extensive overhaul operations, ensuring all remaining hot spots were extinguished.

Incident Alert: Fire Alarm Upgraded to Structure Fire

Last night, Fair Grove Fire was dispatched to a fire alarm activation at a local wedding venue. Engine 45 arrived on scene and waited for a key holder to provide access to the property. Once inside the gate, crews proceeded to the main building and found no visible conditions from the exterior.

After opening the front door, firefighters encountered smoke from floor to ceiling throughout the structure. The incident was immediately upgraded to a structure fire, and crews began an aggressive investigation to locate the source.

After a thorough search, firefighters determined the cause to be a power strip that had caught fire but fortunately extinguished itself before extending to nearby materials. Crews checked for fire extension and confirmed there was no further involvement.

This incident serves as an important reminder that power strips can present a significant fire hazard if overloaded, damaged, or improperly used. Please take a moment to inspect your power strips and electrical devices to help prevent a similar situation.

Once all hazards were mitigated and the building was deemed safe, all units returned to service.

Incident Alert: Working Fire

Around 1:30 this afternoon, Fair Grove Fire responded with Engine 43 and Car 43 to assist Pilot Fire on a reported building fire.

Upon arrival, Fair Grove personnel were assigned to assist with overhaul operations. Crews worked alongside multiple agencies to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished and the structure was thoroughly checked for fire extension.

After overhaul operations were completed and the incident was placed under control, all Fair Grove units returned to service.
