Tax season is approaching! The Thomas County Extension Office is gearing up for the 4th year of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) - a FREE tax preparation service 💸
Here's how to use this program:
💸 Make sure you have received all of your tax documents (including Social Security Card, ID, etc.). For a list of documents to check for, follow this link: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/checklist-for-free-tax-return-preparation
💸 Call 229-225-4130 or email [email protected] to schedule your Intake appointment. (certain Saturday Appts. will be available)
💸 At your intake appointment, bring all your documentation and we will help you complete an intake form. We will schedule your second appointment here as well!
💸 Go home! Volunteers with UGA or UF will prepare your return. We will then review the return for accuracy.
💸 Return for your second appointment where we go over your return with you and file! Make sure to bring a voided check or a bank id card for direct deposit information!
💸 After getting your signatures, we e-file your return!
