Georgia DOT's West District is composed of 31 counties located in West Central Georgia. And we help local governments maintain their roads.

Georgia, the crosswalk starts with you, and safer crossings begin with the choices we make behind the wheel.

This National Pedestrian Safety Month, we encourage you to by slowing down near crosswalks, yielding to pedestrians, and using extra caution when commuting through high foot-traffic areas. 🚶‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️

Even at 25 mph, a pedestrian crash can be fatal, and the risk increases significantly at higher speeds.

Every crosswalk is shared space, and every safe choice helps create safer streets for everyone.
